Build SEO plan, create tasks, assign team members, etc.

Set up

  • We create 3 month SEO plan sprints
  • In the task, create headings for the next three months
  • Add your project tasks under each month depending on clients budget

Check ClickUp

  • Look under Client Docs>Projects this is the catch all for ideas or if we have extra project ideas that were left over from our previous SEO plan sprint.

Process

  • Run SF audit
  • Run GSC audit
  • Run site through Ahrefs to look for new keywords, keywords we can boost, and any under performing keywords
    • Filter by rankings from position 9-40, look for any keywords that we can boost
    • Filter by Search Volume and look for new keywords
    • Filter by Lost and Declined to find any dropped keywords

Content Project ideas

  • Any important service/product pages we ought to create?
  • Any important geo pages need to be created?
  • Any keywords/topics that need a boost up, let’s create a blog post on it
  • Any existing content thin and need additions?
  • Geo target page

Dev Project Ideas

  • Latest blogs
  • Webforms on-page
  • Speed optimization (PSI, WP Rocket optimization)

  • Screaming Frog review (run through SF and fix any misc issues like 404s, 301 links, duplicate Title/Meta Desc, etc.)

SEO

  • Does on-page SEO look okay? Are Title/Meta/Headings all good?
  • Internal linking need to be improved?

Linking Project Ideas

  • Linking outreach

Rankings

  • Check rankings, do some comparisons so we can get an idea of how the site is doing
    • Any keywords on the cusp of top 10? We should focus on getting them bumped into top 10.

Google Search Console

  • Same as above

Google Analytics

  • Any specific pages you see that are performing well? Look into why?
  • Any pages not performing like they should be? Why?

Competitor research

  • Look up competitors, are they doing anything differently? Are they targeting a topic we didn’t think about? Any good ideas we can borrow for our clients?
  • We can do a deep dive here, run Ahrefs/SF etc.
